Finally she reunites with Mariposa in golden sunlight and feels safe in her mother’s gentle embrace. Bella learns that courage, kindness, and the help of friends can always guide you back home.
It was a bright, sunny morning in a colorful garden. Bella the little monarch butterfly fluttered happily from flower to flower. Suddenly she realized her mommy, Mariposa, was nowhere to be seen.
Bella’s tiny heart began to beat faster. She looked among the daisies and roses but found no sign of Mariposa. A gentle breeze made the petals dance around her.
Bella first flew to friend Fern’s garden, landing on a lavender bloom. She asked, “Fern, have you seen my mommy?” Fern shook her wings sadly. “Sorry, Bella. Not today.”
Next, Bella drifted to the edge of the fence under a rosebush. She peered through the green leaves and listened for any familiar flutter. But the garden was quiet, and her worry grew.
Bella searched by the tall sunflowers and sweet honeysuckle. She fluttered high above and low beneath the petals, hoping to spot Mariposa. Tears filled her big, blue eyes as she called out softly.
Just then, under a shady oak tree, she saw a gentle face among the branches. Oliver the great horned owl looked down with his wise amber eyes. Bella wondered if he might know where her mommy was.
“Are you my mommy?” Bella asked, her voice trembling. Oliver blinked and answered with a soft “Hoo hoo.” Bella’s wings drooped—this was not Mariposa.
Bella gathered her courage and said, “Could you please lead me to my mommy?” Oliver spread his broad wings and gave a gentle nod. Bella fluttered close behind as he rose into the sky.
They flew past glowing petals and rustling leaves. The warm breeze carried the scent of wildflowers through the air. Bella held on tight, feeling both nervous and hopeful.
Soon Bella heard a familiar humming above a tall blossom. She looked up and saw Mariposa gathering nectar in the golden sunlight. “Mommy!” Bella cried, fluttering with joy.
Mariposa turned and swept Bella into a gentle embrace with her wings. “I was so worried about you,” she whispered softly. Bella snuggled close, feeling safe again.
Bella thanked Oliver for guiding her home; he hooted one last "hoo hoo". She and Mariposa returned to their garden, safe and happy, knowing bravery, kindness and friendship light the way.
