Every Rock Has a Place — By AlsonAI

Lily and her dad wander into a forest to listen to a roaring waterfall where she notices how each rock by the stream is unique. She wonders why God made stones so different and her father explains that every rock has a special place in the river’s song. When Lily finds a small gray stone that seems lonely she learns that even the tiniest rock has an important role guiding a fallen flower to the falls. As she watches the water dance around each stone she understands that God has made her on purpose too. This gentle tale shows children that everyone is wonderfully made and has a unique purpose in the world.

One day, Lily and her dad walked deep into the quiet woods. They stopped to listen to a loud, roaring waterfall.

The water crashed down, but Lily was looking at the quiet things. She noticed the rocks around her feet.

Every single rock looked completely different. Some rocks were big and heavy. Some were tiny and sharp.

Some were smooth like glass, and some wore soft green coats of moss. A few hid quietly under the cold, rushing water.

Lily touched a bumpy stone. "Daddy," she asked, "why didn't God make all the rocks exactly the same?"

Her dad smiled gently. "Because, sweetheart, every rock has a special place." Lily watched the river flow.

The water did not ignore the rocks. It danced around them. It tumbled over them, making happy, splashing songs.

The rocks actually made the waterfall beautiful. Lily stepped back and looked down at her own small shoes.

"Does God have a place for me, too?" she asked softly. Her dad squeezed her hand.

"Just like the rocks, God made you on purpose, exactly as you are."

But Lily saw a little gray rock sitting far away from the others. It looked very small and very alone.

She picked it up in her hands. "What if this rock doesn't have a place?" Her dad knelt down beside her in the dirt.

"Look closer, Lily." He pointed to the empty spot where the little rock had been resting.

A tiny, quiet stream of water flowed right there. The little rock had been gently catching a fallen pink flower, guiding it safely toward the waterfall.

"Sometimes," her dad said, "we cannot see our purpose until we look at the whole picture." Lily smiled warmly.

She placed the little rock safely back in its spot so it could hold the flower. She looked up at the giant, singing waterfall.

For the first time, she did not wonder where she belonged. She knew. She was one small, beautiful part of her Heavenly Father's wide world.

Every rock has a place. Every flower has a purpose. Every tree has a story, and every drop of water knows where to go.

You are not forgotten. You are wonderfully made.
